Happy first day of Fall, everyone! We've had A LOT of rain in our neck of the woods, but the weekend looks to be comfortable, in the low 70's, which I'll take any day of the year. I have Off the Wall Craftiness' Challenge #25, for you all, today.
I used it to put together a fun, little card for a good friend of mine's birthday on Sunday.
I started her card by stamping the flower images, in Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery inks, on white cardstock; machine stitching a gray-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its edges; silver embossing the "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment in its top center...
machine stitching the bright pink button, in its right center, with gray thread; and adhering it to the Basic Gray, cardstock, card face. Actually, that pretty much covers the front :).
I, then, stamped another piece of white cardstock in the same way as described above; machine stitched, to its center, with gray-threaded, straight stitches, a piece of clear cardstock, which had a half circle shape punched from its right center; and adhered it to the right inside of the card.
Finally, I used a couple glue dots to tuck one end of a length of Baker's Twine under the right side of the button; tied a small knot in the opposite end; and wrapped it around the entire card twice, before winding it around the button a couple of times to secure it.
Oh! I guess that's not the final steps. I tucked a Starbucks gift card into the clear pocket. Every mom, with two kiddos, under the age of two, can use a little help in the energy department. Right?!
