Our sponsor, for this week, is Cosmo Cricket. Yihoo! LOVE our sponsors!
Now, doesn't that color story photograph just emit all kinds of emotions? And don't you just LOVE Color Splash time in the Cafe?! Soft, stunning, floral cards, always, make me think of weddings or funerals. So, since I, actually, have one of the former, thankfully not the latter, to attend, in the next month; I created this beauty to, hopefully, inspire your own creations.
I started, this card, by stamping the solid, leafy images, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; machine stitching a light-purple-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its edges; and adhering it to the textured, Lavender Lace, cardstock, card face.
I, then, painted a chipboard tag with Ivory White, acrylic paint; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; covered it in glitter; dressed up its tag hole with a sheer, black ribbon, tied in a dressy bow; and adhered it in the bottom corner, just inside the stitched frame, of the prepped piece.
The butterfly was stamped, in Lavender Lace ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; hand cut out; pierced, through its center, with an embellished, pearl, stick pin; and layered on top of a chipboard butterfly, which had been painted with Lilac, acrylic paint, before adhering it all, slightly angled, near the bottom of the prepped, chipboard tag.
The "love always" sentiment was stamped, in Lavender Lace ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; hand cut it out; distressed it with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and tucked under the right wing of the embellished butterfly.
Finally, I brushed the edges of my card face with Ivory White, acrylic paint and a dry brush to complete the look. You have until next Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at 11:59 pm EST, to link up your projects. So, run get to creating, bloggers! And I'll be around, shortly, to view all of your fantastic creations. Oh! But before you go, be sure to check out what the rest of our team has in store, for you all, today. And thanks so much for popping in!
