Scrappy Saturday Challenge #42 Blog Hop

Welcome to Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #42: Dust Off Those Scraps Blog Hop!  If you're coming here from the sweet Ann's blog, then you're on the right track.  If you are only just joining us, please be sure to stop by Jenny's blog to start at the beginning.  I'd hate for you to miss out on any of the fantastic inspiration the team has worked hard to bring your way.
Our sponsor, for this week, is Michelle's Scraps with a $15 gift certificate up for grabs!
Now, how about a little something to inspire you?  With the exception of my yellow, cardstock, base page, every, other, paper bit, that you'll find in this layout, came right out of my scrap bin.
I started, this layout, by layering a couple of punched papers, one from an aqua, glitter paper and the other from Lavender Lace cardstock, across the bottom of the page and anchoring them, with lavender-threaded, straight stitches, across their top edges.
I, then, began putting together the rest of my 3" x 3", square, grid design with patterned papers and photographs, machine stitching with lavender-threaded, straight stitches, around the patterned papers.  My partial, "showing off" title was created from lily white, cardstock alphas, which were anchored with messy, lavender-threaded, straight stitches, tied, in knots, at their ends.  The "MY" portion of my title came from yellow, glitter Thickers, turned on their side; and the completed "moves" title was made from chipboard alphas and embellished with a yellow, "remembered by:" Mom 4.28.09 sticker.
The leaves were stamped, in Barely Banana and Summer Sun inks, on Whisper White cardstock; hand cut out; and adhered in and overlapping the left side of the top, pattered, paper square.  It was, then, dressed up with a chipboard butterfly, layered below a stamped, in Lavender Lace, on Whisper White cardstock, and glittered butterfly, which was, in turn, embellished with a purple button, laced with white string.
Finally, I added a few, Whisper White, cardstock, journaling strips, on which I journaled, in Lavender Lace ink, 1. sitting up  2. rolling over  3. munching lip  4. smiling @ Mommy  5. raising brows in curiosity.
My inspiration, for this layout, came from Got Sketch's Sketch #107...
and The Color Room's Palette #43: {Sun Room}.
That's all from me!  Now, you're off to the talented Laurel's blog!  Don't forget to leave some love for our designers as you go, and please help make our new ladies, Giovanna Smith, Stephanie Muzzulin, and Wendy Elliot, as well as our fabulous, February, guest designer, Sarah Moerman, feel welcome!  Thanks so much!  Have a wonderful weekend!  Oh!  And I almost forgot!  Yikes!  You have until Friday, February 11, at 11:59 pm PST, to link up your scrappy entries.  Have fun!  And thanks, again, for peeking in!

  15. Hi Jinny, what a nice layout ! I like the way you had explaining how you did it. I've learnt a lot (I am a beginner in scrapbooking, not in card making and other paper arts) and I am thanful when I find somebody who tells the "how to".
Thank you Jinny... Bisous from France. coKo
