Good morning! I trust you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was super busy, and while we still have much to do that didn't get done, a lot was accomplished. For that, I am uber grateful. I even got the chance to talk to my little sister, for a short time, yesterday and felt like she needed a little card to cheer her up. So, I stole away for a few minutes to make this.
I started her card by distressing the edges of a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; rounding its right side corners; stamping the doily images in Barely Banana ink and the hearts, in their centers, in Real Red ink; trimming it down its left side with a strip of red, vintage, patterned paper, trimmed with a punched strip of green, polka dot, patterned paper; machine stitching a red-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its outside edges; and adhering it to the Garden Green, cardstock, card face.
I, then, wrapped a white, seam binding ribbon, vertically, around the card face, over the connection of the two, patterned papers; tied it, in a dressy bow, near the top left corner; and embellished it with a green stick pin and a red, painted, wooden, heart button, which had been glittered, laced with a red Baker's Twine bow, and dressed with a resin flower.
Finally, I die-cut the sentiment piece from Whisper White cardstock; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamped the frame in Real Red ink and the "Sending my love" sentiment in Garden Green and Real Red inks; glittered around its edges; and adhered it, with dimensionals, tucked under the embellished bow.
A little more glitter for the stamped hearts completes the look.
My inspiration for this card came from Get Sketchy's Challenge #79 (I rotated it once to the right.)...
and Off the Wall Craftiness' Challenge #49. Soooo happy that I finally got the chance to play again over there. LOVE all those gorgeous, inspirational photographs, Kim! Life just gets the best of me, and time runs out. So sorry!
I'm off to get laundry started. Then, we're extending our Spring Break, just for one more day, to take a little field trip with the cousins, whose Spring Break just started this week. We've got plenty of time to get back to business tomorrow. Until then, have a wonderful start to your work weeks, ya'll, and thanks so much for stopping by! Oh! And don't forget that you have until the close of tomorrow EST to link up your takes for the current Challenge #73 in The Play Date Cafe.
