Good morning, and welcome to your 108th stop on the Operation Write Home (OWH) Bunny Hop Bloghop (ie little, `ol me)! I am, completely, honored and uber excited to be participating in my first, OWH hop! Part of my job, in doing so, is to notify you all of the March 18th deadline for Easter cards and the March 31st deadline for Mother's Day cards. I'm, also, to share something I find interesting on the OWH website. Well, my favorite part of the OWH website, by far, is the Our Heroes Inspire Us! page, because it does just that. Thank you to all of our service men and women, past, present, and future, for all you do for me, my family, my friends, my church, and my country! You all are true treasures!
I started, this card, by stamping the text, in Early Espresso ink, on a piece of Certainly Celery cardstock; dry embossing it, with small dots, for added texture; and distressing it with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks. Bashful Blue ink was rubbed over the tops of punched, scallop, half circles, on Whisper White cardstock, to create my sky. I, then, punched both the green, floral and deep brown, patterned papers out with my grass punch; layered the deep brown behind the green floral, across the bottom of the sky piece, for added dimension; adhered it to the prepped, Certainly Celery, cardstock piece; and machine stitched, with light-blue-threaded, straight stitches, around its outside edges.
The butterfly was stamped, in Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango inks, on Whisper White cardstock; hand cut out; and anchored, flying through the sky, just at its center, with light-blue-threaded, back-and-forth, straight, machine stitches.
A length of white lace was, then, wrapped around the top portion of the prepped piece. I dressed the lace up by wrapping a Bashful Blue, taffeta ribbon over its center; tying it, in a bow, just right of center; and embellishing it with a green, flower button, laced with Honeydew twine, and a Cricut-cut, from Whisper White cardstock, tag, which was stamped, in Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue inks, with the "EASTER Blessings" sentiment.
The entire, prepped piece was, then, adhered, with dimensionals, to the Bashful Blue, cardstock, card face, to complete the look.
My color inspiration, for this card, came from ColourQ's Challenge #74.
That's all, for today, from here, ya'll! I'd LOVE to hear what you think. Thanks so much for peeking in! Your next stop, on the hop, is the crafty Melissa. And if you get lost along the way or you want to start at the beginning, you can get the complete list of participants at OWH: Stars & Stamps. Have fun, and enjoy your weekend!
