I started this layout by anchoring the blue, notebook, patterned paper, in the center of the Ruby Red, textured, cardstock, layout base, with navy-threaded, messy, straight, machine stitches. I, then, did the same, only closer to the bottom right corner of the layout, with the red, floral, patterned paper. A strip of red, polka dot, patterned paper was, then, trimmed across its top edge with a punched strip of striped, patterned paper and across its bottom edge with a strip of light blue, crackled, patterned paper, before it was adhered, to the layout base, just below horizontal center and machine-stitched, with navy-threaded, straight stitches, on either side of the paper connections. I, then, cut a small slit near the left edge of that prepped strip; wrapped a length of red, gingham ribbon around the layout base; thread it through the slit; tied it in a bow; and embellished it with a couple of heart pins, decked out with chipboard/sticker flags, as well as a Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine bow.
A red, distressed, photo tab, anchored with a decorative brad...
a strip of red, vintage, patterned paper, which had been embellished with navy-threaded, straight stitches and another, Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine...
a couple of movie ticket stubs; and a "FILE THIS UNDER" label, prep the layout for journaling.
My journaling strips were cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered with dimensionals for a little lift. They were written upon with Night of Navy ink and read, It was such a fun day, when Grandma and Hunter came to visit over Spring Break! We went out to lunch and to the movies before heading home to rest and play.
Finally, a red, glitter, "couSiNs", alpha, sticker title completes the look.
My inspiration for this layout came from Sketchy Thursdays April Guest Design Team Challenge.
We were, also, supposed to think spring with the sketch. I figured what better way to celebrate spring than with Spring Break pictures and my fabulous, springtime, March, Jenni Bowlin kit. Check it out!
