Good afternoon! What a whirl of a week it has been! Life has definitely had me running, but fortunately, it's all been, for the most part, a pleasure. Anyway, I have a sweet, little, country-inspired number, for you all, today.
I started this card by adhering a piece of aqua, plaid, patterned paper in the bottom center of the aqua, weave, patterned paper and machine stitching an ivory-threaded, straight-stitch frame around the edges of the larger piece and an ivory-threaded, zig-zag-stitch frame around the smaller piece, before adhering them both to the Very Vanilla, cardstock, card face.
I, then, wrapped a sheer, ivory ribbon, vertically, around the card face; tied it, in a bow, just below horizontal center; and embellished it with an orange, paper rose.
The flower-filled vases image was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; water colored in shades of Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Barely Banana, Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, and Bordering Blue inks; die-cut out in a scallop circle; distressed with Tea Dye ink; framed with a larger, Barely Banana, cardstock, scallop circle die-cut; and adhered, just above the embellished bow, with dimensionals.
Finally, the "There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy. - Ralph H. Blum" sentiment was stamped, in Basic Black ink, on a piece of vellum; hand cut out in the banner shape; and adhered over the water colored image, to complete the look.
My inspiration for this card came from this beauty, created by CASE Study's March Muse, Julee Tilman, for Challenge #33...
as well as the Tuesday Trigger: Farm Fresh in the Moxie Fab World. You all knew that I couldn't possibly pass up an inspirational photograph boasting vintage linens. LOL! Plus, I fell in love with the sweet simplicity of their CAS, orange and aqua, country appeal immediately.
I'm taking a much-needed blog break for the weekend (Actually, I'm hoping to soon make that more of a rule than the exception.), but I'll be back first thing next week with lots more papercrafty creations that will hopefully inspire your own. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs! Oh! And before I go, I'm so excited to share that this creation was in the CARDS: Grid Format Gallery, on CREATE:, yesterday! Woohoo! Thanks again and again, Paige! Have a wonderful weekend, ya'll!
