So good to have you here visiting for Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #56!
Our sponsor for this month is Nikki Sivils. So, jump on board to be in the running for a fabulous prize, detailed at the challenge link above.
When I saw this week's sketch, I was beyond thrilled! LOVE multi-photo sketches, and this one was just perfect for attempting to get through the last of my baby girl's first-year-pics. Check it out!
I started this layout by adhering a piece of red and pink, polka dot, patterned paper near center of the pink, grid, patterned, paper base and machine stitching, with olive-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges. I then adhered a strip of multicolored, advertisement, patterned paper, trimmed, across its bottom edge, with a punched strip of woodgrain, ruler, patterned paper, near the bottom of the previous piece and machine stitched, with olive-threaded, straight stitches, a double row across its top edge and, with olive-threaded, zig-zag stitches between it and its trimmed edge. After adhering photographs, I tucked a pink and red, floral, journaling card under their right side; used it to journal, in Basic Black ink, I'm so blessed to be your mommy and get to see your reactions to so many new discoveries; and anchored it with double, olive-threaded, straight, machine stitches down its left side.
I then dressed it up, near its bottom, with a yellow, die-cut frame; a stamped in Ruby Red ink, hand-cut, distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, and embellished with a hand-cut silhouette, frame; a wood bobbin, laced with hemp twine; a die-cut, from Pink Pirouette cardstock, leafy flourish; an olive, "six months" sticker; and finally, a cream, doily flower, backed with a punched and crinkled, patterned, paper, scalloped circle and pierced with a red, polka dot, epoxy brad.
The "SWEET girl" title was created from shadow alphas and a pink die-cut, anchored with olive, messy, straight-stitch, machine stitches, tied off to either end.
And last, but certainly not least, I tucked one more, cream, doily flower under the top left edge of the top left photograph; pierced it with another, red, polka dot, epoxy brad; and dressed it up with both an olive, "SWEET baby" die-cut and a "DOCUMENTED:" May 2009 label.
Inspiration for this layout came directly from all the goodies in my September Jenni Bowlin kit.
