Color Me Scrappy Challenge #63

Sunday, June 1, 2014

Note: This is my second post for today.  Love to have you scroll down to check out my Stuck?! June 1st Sketch post below.

I'm so excited to be here today sharing my first page as a Color Me Scrappy designer!  This first, June palette is ever so pretty and worked perfectly with my new Jenni Bowlin papercrafting kit.  So, I dove right in.  Check it out!
I started this page by anchoring strips of patterned paper, haphazardly and with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, across the horizontal center of my polka dot embossed, white, cardstock, base page.  A trio of waves, which were cut, from Pacific Point cardstock, with my Cameo and glittered, were also tucked in amongst the stitched strips.  I then layered my photos, which were matted with Whisper White cardstock, over them and grounded them with an "It's the sweet simple things in life which are the real ones after all.  - Laura Ingalls Wilder" quote sticker.
The "POOL PLAY" title was created with chipboard Thickers and blue letter stickers and tucked in between the top two photographs.
Then, in working our way from the top to the bottom, the first photo was tagged with a Tan-Tar-A, July 29, 2010, striped pennant, anchored with an aqua button, laced with white string.
The second photo was flanked with a "life is BEAUTY FULL" cardstock sticker...
as well as a simple "THURSDAY" flag.
And the third photograph was trimmed with both "love" and "fun" stickers.  A number of butterfly sequins and buttons were secured, with more white string, throughout the design, and a handful of color-coordinating brads, as well as lots of acrylic paint sprinkles, complete the look.
Here's your soothing Challenge #63 to get you started.  In coordination with the colors, we're also looking for the use of products from at least three different manufacturers.
You have until the 28th of each month to link up your takes and are playing for the opportunity to guest design with our talented team.  Speaking of, please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see how they've interpreted the challenge.  Thanks so much for peeking in!  Have a blessed work week, as well as a fantastic June, friends!
