Christmas Stories

Thursday, December 3, 2009

I have so many, many, new things to show you all, but I think that I'll save them for another day.  I'm in a funky mood.  My mind is so full of so many, sad things.  I'm supposed to be cheerful this time of year!  What's the deal?!  So, I'm going to tell you about something I truly love... children's books!  I've always had a HUGE passion for children's books... even before I knew that I was going to be a teacher... even before I had children of my own.  There's just something magical about the hidden treasures you'll find, the mysteries that will be solved, the far off places you'll visit, the nature that will come to life, the secrets that will be revealed, the joy that will be discovered, the hundreds of new things you'll learn, the relationships that will grow, etc.  See!  I'm already feeling better :).

Anyway, I thought, "What a fabulous idea!" when I read about Amy's tradition, on The Idea Room blog, of reading a Christmas book every night in December and a new story on Christmas Eve.  We were pretty much doing that already, except that my kiddos were getting their new stories Christmas morning.  So, I gathered all our Christmas stories, together...

and put them, in a basket, near the tree.
