Swimming Lessons

Monday, June 28, 2010

Last Thursday was Ezekiel's last day of swimming lessons.  On the way, in the car, he asked me how old you have to be to compete in the Olympics :).  He just loves swimming so much!  We might just have the next Michael Phelps on our hands.  No pressure!  I mean... Ezekiel doesn't have a long torso, short legs, or big feet.  We'll be proud, of him, no matter what he decides, even, if it's just to swim for the fun of it!  I mean...We enrolled him in the Level 2 class; after the first day, his instructor moved him up to the Level 3 class; and he passed with flying colors, while doing his best!  We, already, have so much to be proud of!
It was much more difficult to get good pictures at this level of swimming, because they spent most of their time in the lanes, but I did manage to snap a few.
We celebrated his achievement with a little trip to McDonald's.
Anyway, I had so much fun with my clear cardstock cards, which can be found in yesterday's Color Cue {5} Challenge post, that I made this card, for him to thank his swimming instructor, for Cas-tastic Wednesday's Blue, Yellow, and a Neutral Challenge.
I started this card by stamping the waves, in Moonlight White ink, on the clear, cardstock, card face.  I, then, stamped the little fish, in Yoyo Yellow ink, on white cardstock; hand cut him out; and adhered him, in the waves, with dimensionals.  A glue dot was adhered to the backside of the clear cardstock surface, behind the fish, just to secure the folded, Brilliant Blue, cardstock insert long enough to get it machine stitched, in place, with white-threaded, straight stitches, again, leaving the back, inside, insert flap hanging free.  I, then, wrapped a bright yellow, gingham ribbon around the top of the card face; tied it in a bow; and embellished it with a blue button, laced with white thread, and a prepared tag.  The tag's " a little note of thanks" sentiment was stamped, in Yoyo Yellow ink, on white cardstock and hand cut out.
Have a fantastic week, everyone!

Wow, I am impressed. Stitching on acetate......
that's not easy.

These are so fun! They look *just* like a set I created a while ago for the Lawn Fawn release! Isn't stamping & stitching on acetate fun?!
