Card Style Week: Shabby & Vintage

Thursday, July 29, 2010

I'm on to another style for Card Style Week over at Moxie Fab World.  I've got a Shabby and Vintage card, for you all, today.
I started this card by painting, with acrylic paint, and glittering, before it was dry, the chipboard frame in the center of the card face.  I, then, set it aside to dry and began piecing together the strips of patterned paper and framing them, across the top, with a strip of punched, Real Red cardstock and, across the bottom, with a strip of punched, Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I, then, machine stitched ivory-threaded, straight and zig-zag stitches between all paper connections, before adhering the prepped piece to the Tempting Turquoise, cardstock, card face and distressing all edges with Chamomile and Chai inks.  A sheer, ivory ribbon was, then, wrapped around the center of the card face; tied in a bow, to the far left of the card face; and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine.  I, then, stamped the "Praying for You" sentiment, in Real Red ink, on an oval of ivory cardstock; distressed its edges with Chamomile and Chai inks; and adhered it to the backside of my prepped, chipboard piece, which was, then, adhered, with dimensionals, in the center of the card face, over the existing ribbon.
I hope you're all having a fantastic day!  Thanks for stopping by!
