Sketchy Thursdays August Guest DT Challenge

That's right!  I just couldn't resist the fabulous sketch for Sketchy Thursdays' August Guest Design Team Challenge.
Here's what I came up with.
I started this layout by machine stitching the square piece of airplane, patterned paper into the center of the Tempting Turquoise, cardstock page with white-threaded, straight stitches.  I, then, hand cut a circle from yellow, script, patterned paper; adhered it to the left of the layout; gave it some bright yellow, gingham, ribbon rays; and machine stitched white-threaded, zig-zag stitches around its edges.  The graphic, white and gray, patterned, paper strip was added next, at an angle, and secured, across its top and bottom edges, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, running over on to the cardstock page.  The yellow, paper, pendant die-cut was, then, adhered, over the graphic paper, at a, slightly, opposite angle, and machine stitched, with white-threaded, straight stitches, across its upper edge.  After adhering the 3", square pictures, I created a few, little, sun embellishments.  I cut and distressed circles from Summer Sun cardstock; stamped sunshines, in Summer Sun ink, on white cardstock; cut them out; glittered the rays; dressed up their centers with Pure Poppy buttons, embellished with Dessert Sun gemstones; and adhered them off-center, with dimensionals, in the prepared, Summer Sun, cardstock circles.
A "good morning, sunshine" title, created from gray, polka dot, alpha stickers; a few, white, cardstock, journal strips, which read, Grandma Green took these pictures right after telling you that your new baby sister had been born early that morning...
and a 11.01.08, mini label sticker complete the look.
And just for fun, before I run, I've got a couple, family pics for you all.  A few weeks back, one of Ezekiel's fish died, and he decided that getting a new one would be a good way to use some of his birthday money.  Thus, Flame, the yellow guppy, joined our family.
We, also, ended up coming home with a few, aquarium accessories and a new snail to clean up all that algae.  Our snail died a long time ago.  Bummer!  And somehow, someway, Bridget, the mouse, also, made her way into our basket.
Am I crazy or what?!  I must've been having an off day or something.  It's not like I don't have enough things to take care of, and now, a handful of new pets.  Eeek!  I have, however, missed having a little critter to play with.  They've been in my life, since I can remember; and Ezekiel's, already, had a couple to care for of his own.  So, we, already, had everything Bridget needed, except for the fresh food, which was an inexpensive purchase.  Adina is just thrilled!
I'll be back, later tonight, with a fun, summer card.  Until then, have a super day!

great layout! my almost 7-y-o has been pestering me for a pet. (apparently our 2 dogs don't count.) i'm thinking he may get either a lizard or rat for his bday in a couple months. i'm leaning toward rat as i'm not a fan of distributing live food, lol, although i love reptiles.
