CAS-tastic Wednesday Bling It Up Challenge & Card Style Week: Classy & Elegant

Monday, August 2, 2010

I, recently, made these ten beauties for a special, Etsy customer.
I started this card by stamping the flourishes, in Basic Black ink, on white cardstock, before adhering it to the Basic Black, cardstock, card face.
I, then, wrapped a black, satin ribbon around the center of the card face and embellished with the name label, which was stamped, in Basic Black ink, on white cardstock; hand cut out; filled with the hand-written name, per customer request, using Basic Black ink; and embellished with gemstones.
They were, then, packaged up for delivery.
I'm linking these cards up to CAS-tastic Wednesday's Bling It Up Challenge, because while it's easy to overdue it, when it comes to bling, I think they follow CAS-tastic Wednesday's guidelines perfectly.
  • Clean: uncluttered, lots of white or open space
  • Simple: clear focal point with little distractions
  • Reproducible: can be quickly and easily mass produced
I, also, sooo loved the simplicity and elegance of this card, that I made a similar one, for my sister and brother-in-law for their anniversary, with Moxie Fab World's Card Style Week: Classy & Elegant in mind.
I, however, used Old Olive and Taken With Teal inks, rather than Basic Black; pearls, rather than gemstones; and a teal and olive, grosgrain ribbon, rather than black satin.  I, also, stamped the "BEST WISHES" sentiment, in Old Olive ink, in the stamped, in Taken With Teal ink, label's center...
machine stitched white-threaded, straight stitches around the flourish-stamped, white cardstock's edges; and distressed everything with Chamomile and Chai inks.
So good to be home and playing with paper again :)!  Hope you all have a fantastic week!

These are so lovely! I really enjoy seeing them in the different color schemes as well, they take on different meanings and that is great!
