OTWC #21, CREATE: Star-Shaped Challenge, & BIG NEWS

Thursday, August 26, 2010

I have Off the Wall Craftiness' Challenge #21, for you all, today.
I, also, had CREATE: Blog's Star-Shaped Challenge in mind, when I came up with this.
I started this card by clear embossing stars on the Cricut-cut, Green Galore, cardstock, card face.  I, then, machine stitched, using hot-pink-threaded, straight stitches, a Cricut-cut, vellum star over the top, just to soften the look a little, and set Yoyo Yellow eyelets in four of the five, star points, before adhering another Cricut-cut, Green Galore, cardstock star to the back.  That gives it a nice, clean look, inside and out.
I, then, set a fifth, Yoyo Yellow eyelet in the top star point, going through the existing layers as well as a third Cricut-cut, from Green Galore cardstock, star layer to form the backside of the card.  Everything was, then, distressed, with Moonlight White ink, to soften the look even more.  A length of turquoise, crinkle trim, embellished with a felt, turquoise, button star, as well as a Pure Poppy button, laced with white string and the stamped, in Pink Passion ink, on white cardstock, "reach for the stars!" sentiment, which was adhered with dimensionals, complete the look.
Now, for my BIG NEWS... I'm so excited and, completely, honored to be joining Dawn and the uber talented ladies on the Wplus9 Design Team for the fall!  Eeek!  Thanks for this opportunity, Dawn!  I hope that I do you proud!
