PDCC40

Today, I feel like we've got a big "welcome home" slap in the face.  Ezekiel has a fever, we both have sore throats, and I just cannot seem to get caught up on my sleep and have developed yet another case of poison ivy.  What in the world?!  On a positive note, the laundry is, finally, caught up; and Adina is making us laugh, with her antics, as usual.
Every time we're getting ready to leave, she puts on her plastic, pearl necklace and bracelets and grabs her purse.  Too cute!
Here she is trying to see the neighbors mowing their lawn...
and since she's been potty trained, it's super difficult for her to leave her swimming suit on.
I, also, have my take on The Play Date Cafe's Color Challenge 40, for you all, so things have got to be looking up.
Here's what I came up with.
I started this card by using an extra, stamped, in Basic Black ink, on white cardstock, flourish piece from yesterday's post.  I, then, machine stitched black-threaded, straight stitches around its edges; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and adhered it to the Basic Black, cardstock, card face.  A black, satin ribbon was, then, wrapped around the top portion of the card face; tied in a bow; and embellished with a green, Vintage Style button, laced with white string, and a prepared, sentiment tag.  To make the tag, I stamped the "so glad we're friends" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, on a hand-cut, white, cardstock tag.  I, then, distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; framed it with a punched, black, cardstock tag; and adhered it, with dimensionals, angled to the left, below the ribbon bow.  Finally, I distressed another piece of white cardstock with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks and adhered it to the inside of the card for my message.  You can get a little peek of it, in the bottom left corner, below.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and come back, again, soon!  All your comments, completely, make my day, too; so, please, leave some love, before you run!  Have a super day!

{Supplies & Tools}
Stamps: Best Yet (SU); Flourishes v2 (Autumn Leaves) Paper: Basic Black (SU); white (Georgia Pacific) Ink: Basic Black (SU); Tea Dye & Antique Linen (Ranger) Other: green, Vintage Style button (JBS Mercantile); black, satin ribbon (Hobby Lobby); white string; black thread & sewing machine; Tag punch (SU); dimensionals
