Scrap Attack Sketch Contest

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Becky Fleck, over at PageMaps, is having a Scrap Attack Sketch Contest, based upon this sketch.
I just love working with her sketches and was thrilled to get this layout put together just in the nick of time.
I started this layout by machine stitching the aqua, patterned paper, onto the ivory, patterned, paper page, with ivory-threaded, double-stitch lines, running over onto the main page itself, across the top, bottom, and right side.
I, then, adhered the floral, patterned paper, just below center, overhanging the aqua, patterned paper's left side.  The pictures and red, hand-cut, from patterned paper, doilies, as well as the red tag, stamped, in Azurite ink, with the "Birthday Girl" title came next.
A length of patterned paper which reads, "THERE IS ONLY ONE PRETTY CHILD IN THE WORLD AND EVERY MOTHER HAS IT." just sums up how I felt, when these photographs were taken, which was when Adina was approximately 10 hrs. old, as the die-cut tag, stapled to the left of the bottom doily, boasts, absolutely, perfectly!
A little, green rickrack and a green, polka dot ribbon, stapled to the title tag complete the look.

Hope you all are having a sweet Sunday!  Enjoy the last few hours of your weekend!
