Curtain Call {Act 47} & 2S4Y Sketch 61

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Good morning!  It is cloudy here, today, after a big storm passed through, yesterday, and everything feels and smells fresh and clean and cool.  Aaaahh!  Just like fall!  For my papercrafty take, for you all, today, I combined Curtain Call's Color Challenge: {Act 47}...
with 2 Sketches 4 You's Kazan's Sketch 61...
and came up with this.
I started this card by stamping the bamboo image, in Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip inks, on white cardstock.  I, then, stamped it, again, using the same colors, on clear cardstock; flipped it upside down; and rubbed the reflection image, onto the white cardstock, below the original.
There is a fabulous tutorial, for this "Reflection Technique", over at Splitcoast Stampers.  Too fun!  I, then, water colored a Close to Cocoa bank and Bordering Blue water; stamped the "thank you" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, just above the bank; and added a layer of Crystal Effects, over the reflected image, just to make it look that much more like water.
The whole, prepped piece was, then, framed by a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock and adhered to the center of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, which had been embellished by a centered, vertical length of Dark Chocolate, grosgrain ribbon.  A few paper pierced dots, ran down the left side of the stamped and framed piece, and a kraft-colored button, laced with hemp twine, adhered, centered, above the stamped images, complete the look.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!  We're heading out camping, tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be busy packing up and getting our meals ready.  It's so nice to, finally, have camping weather back to Kansas, again.  Yippeee!
