PDCC47 & 2S4Y Laura's Sketch 61

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

I found a little relief, from the day to day grind, today, to sneak up to my craft space, to create a little something and, later, realized that I needed to get it posted tonight for The Playdate Cafe's Challenge #47.
That's what kind of week I've been having!  No worries!  I combined it with 2 Sketches 4 You's Laura's Sketch 61...
and am sneaking this one in, just under the wire.
I started this card by stamping the floral images, in Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Garden Green inks, on a piece of white cardstock; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhering it to the black and white, checkered, patterned paper; machine stitching a white-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its edges; and adhering the resulting piece to the Garden Green, cardstock, card face.  I, then, layered a punched length of a piece of leftover, from my All Eyes On... Color Misting post, cardstock, vertically, near the right edge of the card face.
A white, paper doily was adhered in the top right corner and overhanging the inside flap, before I wrapped a length of red and white Baker's Twine, vertically, around the card face, over all layers but centered over the punched and Glimmer Misted piece, three times, and tied it in a bow.  Finally, I stamped the "because nice matters" sentiment, in Real Red ink, on white cardstock; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and adhered it, horizontally, just left of and above the twine bow.
If this is your first stop by my blog, today, please be sure to scroll down to my earlier, Embellish Paper Piecing Color Challenge post, and have a fabulous night!
