Three in One

Thursday, September 2, 2010

You read that right!  I've got, yet another, three-in-one card, for you all, today.  I combined Wee Memories' In the Forest Challenge #20, to incorporate any kind of "In the Forest" thing(s) into your design...
with Curtain Call's Color Challenge: Act 45...
as well as Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge 83...
to bring you all this sweet, little card.
I started this card by stamping the tree image, in Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery inks, on a white, cardstock circle; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and adhering it to a Crumb Cake, cardstock circle, which was, in turn, paper pierced around its outside edges, before being adhered to the square, Elegant Eggplant, cardstock, card face, which had been distressed with Moonlight White ink.
I, then, punched a strip of Certainly Celery cardstock; stamped it, in Close to Cocoa ink, with the "impressed, amazed, inspired {by you}" sentiment; and adhered it, horizontally, just below the stamped, tree image and overlapping all layers.
A white, sheer ribbon, tied in a bow, draws your eye right to the largest cluster of dimensional, glitter, flower stickers and beckons a peek at the stamped, in Close to Cocoa ink, on white cardstock, and hand cut, fox image which was adhered with dimensionals.
A few, more, dimensional, glitter, flower stickers dress up the other side of the card face as well.
I, really, wish that I had all the exact colors of Stampin' Up's cardstock and ink to do this color challenge up right; but I'm struggling just to get the new, basic colors, into my craft space, since the color renovation took place.  I sooo wish that Stampin' Up had offered the new, basic colors of ink in a set of spots.  That would've been a HUGE help, but my hubby just says, "Why would they do that?  Then, they wouldn't make as much money."  Hee!  Hee!  Oh, well!  Life goes on :).

This card is for Emily P.
Emily P. is another one of Jennifer McGuire's Cards for Kids kiddos.  According to Jennifer's blog, Emily P. was diagnosed with average risk medulloblastoma in February 2008.  She completed radiation and nine cycles of chemo, but her cancer returned ten months after she finished treatment.  She will be receiving her third round of chemo and stereo tactic radiation to the two tumors in June 2010.  Then, she will, most likely, receive high dose chemo with a stem cell rescue in July.  She is incredibly strong and has a loving family that supports her.

Oh!  And before I run, I'd love for you all to run take a peek here over at 2 Sketches 4 You.  You might just find this beauty, boasting its presence amongst a gorgeous display of other creations.  Such talent!  AND look what I won, thanks to Aspiring to Creativity's blog candy giveaway in celebration of their first blogoversary!
Eeek!  Thanks, even from the bottom of my heart, doesn't seem big enough, ladies!  I'm so blessed!  Have a spectacular day, everyone!

I couldn't find a pic on your blog of this card but if you have one, you may now post it and not "ruin" the surprise. ;) We will also post it on our blog as such an honor!!
