Wplus9 Oct. Release Sneak Peek: Day 2

Monday, October 4, 2010

Welcome back for day two of Wplus9 Design's, October, release, sneak peeks!  Today, we'll be focusing on Season of Thanks; although, I did use one stamp from Damask Frames, as well.
We'll be with BJ's family for Thanksgiving this year, so, I thought it would be fun to make a set of placecards, for everyone, as well as a coordinating candle for the hostess to dress her table.
I started these placecards by stamping the large, leaf images, in VersaMark ink, on 3" squares of textured, Old Olive cardstock, before folding them in half and writing each person's name in Old Olive ink.  I, then, dressed some of them with stamped, in Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, and Chocolate Chip inks, on ivory cardstock, and glittered pumpkins, framed with a gorgeous, damask circle, from Damask Frames, which was stamped in Old Olive ink.
The others were embellished with stamped, in Ruby Red and Elegant Eggplant inks, on ivory cardstock, and glittered, little leaves.
They both were hand cut out.  I tried punching them with a circle punch, but it just took so much away from those soft, wavy edges.  They were, then, adhered, above the names and overhanging the top of the folded placecards.
The candle wrap was made by stamping, again, the large leaves, in VersaMark ink, on textured, Old Olive cardstock.  I, then, stamped the "HAPPY Thanksgiving" sentiment, in Old Olive ink, in the bottom center of the wrap; trimmed it, across the top and bottom, with punched strips of Chocolate Chip cardstock; secured the punched strips with machine-stitched, ivory-threaded, straight stitches; and wrapped it around the center of the color-coordinating, Anjou Pear candle.
A length of brown, Baker's Twine was, then, wrapped around the candle, just above the center of the wrap, and tied it in a bow, just left of vertical center.
A stamped, in Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, & Old Olive inks, on ivory cardstock, glittered, and hand cut pumpkin and frame, adhered, with dimesionals, above the sentiment and to the right of the bow, is the perfect finishing touch.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!  Oh!  And don't miss out on these other design team members' fabulous creations, either!
