Curtain Call {Act 54}

Friday, November 5, 2010

Today proves to be an extra, busy day, as we leave for my parents' house, this afternoon, for Adina's birthday celebration, tomorrow; but I just had to get in a little, something papercrafty for you all.
I started this card by embossing a piece of ivory cardstock with a line every 1/4".  LOVE how this looks like bead board!  I, then, distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhered it to the More Mustard, cardstock, card face; and stamped it, in Chocolate Chip ink, near the bottom center of the card face, with the "HAPPY Thanksgiving" sentiment.
The leaves were stamped, in More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, and Really Rust inks, on ivory cardstock; hand cut out; and adhered, around a cut, cardstock ring, just at their centers, before being spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist and adhered, to the center of the card face, above the sentiment.
Finally, I adhered a sheer, stain-trimmed, ivory bow to the top center of the wreath...
and embellished it with a More Mustard button, laced with Baker's Twine.
My inspiration, for this card, came from Curtain Call's, yum-o Color Challenge {Act 54}.
Okay, I'm off to bake and frost and pack and prepare.  I do have a scheduled, Color Combos Galore post coming your way, tomorrow morning, while I'm away.  So, please, be sure to come back and check that out.  Here's a little, sneak peek to tide you over.
And of course, I'll have lots of pictures, of the party, to show you all, next week.  Until then, have a fantastic weekend!  Oh!  And be sure to run check out all the fantastic, ruffly creations on the CREATE: Blog.  You just might find two (Yes, I said TWO!) of mine... this one here and this one back there.  Yippeee!  Thanks, Paige!

Terrific card! It's simple, but loaded with detail -- down to the knots in the tails of your baker's twine. So fab!
