MFW: Diggin' on Damask & CR84FN2

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Good morning!  Well, technically, I guess that it's almost afternoon.  Whatever time it is where you are, I hope you're having a fantastic day!  I've got a fun, little, card, for you all, today.
I started this card by stamping the damask design, in Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze inks, on a piece of white cardstock; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; machine stitching a gray-threaded, straight-stitch, double frame around its edges..
adhering it in the top of a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock, which was, in turn, adhered to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face; and embellishing it, across the bottom, with a punched piece of damask, patterned paper.  I, then, silver embossed the "Congratulations" sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card face.
The heart windows were made by punching a piece of Not Quite Navy cardstock with three hearts; covering its backside with clear, packaging tape, making sure that the sticky side would be facing toward the front of the card, once the piece was adhered to the card face; and rubbing silver glitter into the created windows.
The packaging tape holds the glitter super good!  It was, then, adhered above the punched, damask, patterned paper and embellished, in its top corners, with aqua gemstones.  I just love the way you can, even, some more of the damask pattern coming through the heart windows!
An Enchanted Evening, saddle-stitch ribbon, wrapped, around the card face, over the seam of the heart window cardstock and punched, damask, patterned paper and tied, in a bow, to the left of the card face, complete the look.
This card was inspired by the Diggin' on Damask Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and Cupcake's Creations' Create For Fun: Challenge 2.
I'm, also, turning it in to Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge: Free Your Creativity to create any kind of project with any theme... ANYTHING!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Love hearing from you all!  Hugs!
