Wplus9 Nov. Release Week: Day 3

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Welcome back for another look at Wplus9 Design's November releases!  We're taking a closer look at From the Kitchen Of and All Occasion Tags, today.  These sets are our very own Hannah Craner's debut as a stamp illustrator.  Yihoo!  They coordinate seamlessly and were the perfect complement to the 36 pints of apple butter I made, from our Pome on the Range apples, back here.
I started decorating this jar by punching two, 1-1/2" x 12" strips of Christmas tree, patterned paper; scoring them between the scallops; accordion-folding them; and adhering them together to form a fan flower.  I, then, stamped the apple image, in Real Red, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip inks, on Whisper White cardstock; stamped the ring image, in Old Olive ink, around it; punched it out; glittered the apple; and adhered it to a punched, from Real Red cardstock, scallop, before using it to embellish the center of the patterned, paper, fan flower, which was, in turn, adhered to the top center of the jar's lid.
The tag frame was stamped, in Real Red ink, on Whisper White cardstock and filled in with stamped, in Real Red ink, lines; a stamped, in Bordering Blue and Chocolate Chip inks, house; a stamped, in Old Olive ink, "From Our Home" sentiment; and finally, stamped, in Old Olive ink, "TO:" and "FROM:" words.  It was, then, hand cut out; framed with a piece of hand-cut, Old Olive cardstock; and tied to the jar with a sheer, red, satin-trimmed ribbon, which was wrapped around the jar and laced through a punched slot in the top of the tag, before being tied in a bow.
Because we'll be with my hubby's family for Thanksgiving this year, and because my family loves apple butter, almost, as much as I do, while I was playing, I just had to decorate a little jar for my parents, to serve with their Thanksgiving dinner, as well.
I began decorating this jar by stamping the apple image, in Real Red, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip inks, on a punched circle of Whisper White cardstock; stamping the ring image in Summer Sun ink; and adhering it to a punched, from Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scallop, which was, then, embellished with pleated doilies and adhered to the top of the jar's lid.
The tag frame was stamped, in Pumpkin Pie ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; filled in with stamped, in Summer Sun ink, lines, as well as a stamped, in Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, and Old inks, acorn and a stamped, in Pumpkin Pie ink, "Happy Harvest" sentiment, as well as "TO:" and "FROM:" words; framed with a piece of hand-cut, Pumpkin Pie cardstock; and tied to the jar with a Harvest Gold, grosgrain ribbon, which was wrapped around the jar and laced through a punched slot in the top of the tag, before being tied in a bow.

Hi Jinny! Thanks for stopping by my blog today :). Your jars are so cute!

The big doily stamp I used is from October Afternoon and the smaller one is by Maya Road. Here are their links at Two Peas, but they are both sold out. I hope you can find them elsewhere :).
