Scrappy Saturday Challenge #36

Welcome to Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge: Colors of the Season!
This week's prize is five, digital stamps from Pink Cat Studio.
Oh!  I cannot tell you how much fun I had with this one!  Plus, I had my son all smiles with these sweet, little, gingerbread men.  Check it out!
I started this layout by trimming the top and bottom edge of a piece of red, design, patterned paper with punched strips of aqua, patterned paper; machine stitching, with white-threaded, straight stitches, down each of its sides and, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the connections of the top, two, patterned papers; and wrapping a green ribbon, around the prepped piece, between the bottom, two, patterned papers and tying it in a bow, which I, then, embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a Caribbean twine, from The Twinery, bow, before adhering the prepped piece to the polka dot, patterned, paper, base page.
I, then, trimmed the far right photograph, along its bottom edge, with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped, in Bermuda Bay ink, with dotted lines and embellished with a stamped, in Ruby Red, Bermuda Bay, and Chocolate Chip inks, "SWEETS" tab.  This concoction served as my journaling card, which reads. We {love} baking, frosting, and dressing up Christmas, sugar cookies on Christmas afternoon.  We always make a mess but have so much fun doing so.  Christmas '09
The Gingerbread Gang...
was printed on Whisper White cardstock; colored with Ruby Red, Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, and Old Olive inks and a blender pen; hand cut out; pieced together, with foam tape, to form a banner, across the top of the layout; and embellished, between their hands, with Pure Poppy buttons, laced with more, Caribbean twine.
Little touches of glitter on the gingerbread men's buttons and cheeks and on the cupcake's cherry, as well as a green, foam, Thickers, "traditions" title, complete the look.
ColourQ's Challenge #63 had the perfect, seasonal, color combination for these sweet, gingerbread men and all my yummy, patterned papers.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until Friday, December 31st, at 11:59 pm PST, to submit your entry.  Yep, you read that right!  We all need to slow down and take a break over the holidays.  So, you get two weeks to work, on your projects, this time.  I cannot wait to see!  Then, we'll be back, on Saturday, January 8, 2011, with a new challenge, to start the New Year off right!  Oh!  And don't forget to enter Jenny's giveaway, for a Color Cubbie, from Studio 3 Solutions!  Yihoo!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!  And if you're not a regular follower of my blog, Merry Christmas, and may your New Year be blessed!

Such a darling layout, Jinny! I have a page about our cookie baking tradition, too, and it's one of my faves. The gingerbread men are the perfect accent! Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ!
