Sketchy Thursdays

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Good morning!  I have so many pictures, to show you all, from our decorating the tree for Christmas, as well as another, amazing, recipe pump from Paula Deen's 2010 Special Collector's Issue Christmas Magazine; but it's all going to have to wait for another post, because I was, completely, inspired by the current, Sketchy Thursdays' sketch and had to have it posted by today.  Eeek!
I started this page by painting my polka dot, embossed, black cardstock with acrylic paint; spritzing over it with Jack Frost Glimmer Mist (I should've taken a before and after, so you all could see the difference it made.  Plus, the shine is amazing in person!); stamping circles in Moonlight White ink, as well as the grid design in Basic Black ink; and machine stitching a white-threaded, straight-stitch, double frame, about 1-1/2" in from the outside edges, around my base page.
I, then, adhered a strip of red, patterned paper, just inside the stitching, near the bottom of the page and flush with the left edge of the layout, and embellished it with a punched strip of Pacific Point cardstock, which was anchored, across its top, with white-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.
After adhering my pictures, I added the green, foam, Thickers, "{birthday dinner}" title, vertically, down the right side of the layout...
the patterned, paper banner, embellished with a green, Vintage-Style button, laced with white string, across the top...
a few, random Rain Dots all over; and finally, my journaling, just above the red, patterned, paper strip, which reads, You asked for steak and carrot cake for your birthday, and I was happy to oblige.  6.10.10
Like I said before, this layout was inspired by Sketchy Thursdays' current sketch...
as well as The Color Room's Palette #34 {His Room}.
Soooo excited, to tell you all, now that our, Wplus9 Design release is behind us, that, over the last few days, I was named a Curtain Call Top 5 Show Stopper for this creation...
AND a ColourQ Courtier for this card.
Yea!  Thanks so very, very, very much, ladies!  Oh!  And yesterday, we had our first snow!
It didn't stick around for long or amount to much, but my kiddos sure enjoyed watching it fall, and I, totally, lost our bet.  Have a, fabulously, fascinating day, everyone; and thanks, from the bottom of my heart, for peeking in!
