Three in One

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Good morning!  And what a crazy one it has been around our house!  Our neighbors' dog keeps digging holes under our fence and letting one of our dogs under.  Then, somehow their dog doesn't know how to get out of their yard, but ours does; and we have to go gallivanting all over the neighborhood, trying to find her.  Grrrr!  What are we going to do with her?!  Anyway, I have a fun, little card, for you all, today!
I started, this card, by dry embossing vertical lines into my Basic Gray, cardstock, card face and distressing it with Moonlight White ink.
I, then, stamped the branch, in Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke inks, on a piece of white cardstock; glittered the leaves; and ran a green-threaded, straight, machine-stitch frame around its outside edges, as well as around the edges of a piece of text, patterned paper.  The text, patterned paper was adhered in the bottom, left corner of the card face; and the stamped and glittered piece was adhered in the top, right corner, overlapping the text, patterned paper.  The nest was created by gluing a little dried, Spanish moss to the branch and filling it with a stamped, in Real Red and Chocolate Chip inks, bird, who is chirping the stamped, in Basic Black ink, "happy bird-day to you!" sentiment.
A Basic Gray, taffeta ribbon, wrapped around the card face; tied, in a bow, near the bottom, left corner of the stamped piece; and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with red, Baker's Twine...
completes the look.
My color inspiration, for this card, came from Curtain Call's Color Challenge: {Act 59}...
and the textures were, methodically, created with Everything But the Kitchen Sink's very last Challenge #28: Textures in mind.  So sad to see them go.  Thanks for all the inspiration, along the way, ladies!
I, also, had the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Birthday Challenge, in the Moxie Fab World, and Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge #95 on the brain, during the creation of my card.
Oh!  And before I run clean the bathrooms (So fun!  I hope you can sense my sarcasm ;).), I'm so excited, to tell you all, that I was named a Sketchy Thursdays' Fave for this layout!  Yihoo!  Thanks, ladies for the feature AND for all the amazing inspiration!  I'll be back, tomorrow, with another, cutesy, Christmas tag.  Until, then, remember that you have until 11:59 pm PST tomorrow night to post your take on the current Scrappy Saturday Challenge #34: Holiday Music Inspiration.  Have a fabulous day, everyone!
