Wplus9 Dec. Release: Group Post

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

So glad to have you back for our fourth and final day of Wplus9 Design's December release!  I promised, earlier in the week, to post a card, using So 80's, that was more 80's inspired than my Day 1 layout.  So, here she is!
I started this card by cutting a large circle from the bottom right corner of a piece of Basic Black cardstock; machine stitching a lime-green-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its outside edges; and adhering it to the Pink Passion, cardstock card face.  I, then, stamped the splash design, in Green Gable and Pink Passion inks, on a cut circle of Whisper White cardstock; black embossed the partial "Rock" sentiment in its center; and adhered it, with dimensionals, within the previously cut, from Basic Black cardstock, circle.
A few, lime green brads, adhered around the bottom left edge of the cut circles...
and a length of white string, wrapped around the card face, vertically, three times; tied, in a bow, just above horizontal center; and embellished with the completed, stamped, in Green Gable ink, and hand cut, "you" sentiment...
complete the look.
So 80's...

Wplus9 Dec. Release Sneak Peek: Day 3

Monday, November 29, 2010

Good evening or morning, depending on when and where you're reading this, and welcome to day three of Wplus9 Design's December, release, sneak peeks!  I promised you all another look at Sweet Nothings, and I'm here, today, to show you just how, seamlessly, it works with Damask Frames.  It is a sentiment set that would work well with any stamper's collection for that matter.
I started this card by stamping the damask design, in Not Quite Navy and Pretty in Pink inks, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; framing it with a piece of Not Quite Navy cardstock; machine stitching a pink-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its outside edges; and adhering it to the Basic Gray, cardstock, card face, which was, in turn, distressed with Moonlight White ink.
I, then, stamped the damask frame, in Pretty in Pink ink, on Whisper White cardstock; silver embossed the "you bring me joy" sentiment in its center; cut it out; framed it with a cut oval of Basic Gray cardstock, dimensionals having been put between the two; and adhered it, with dimensionals, just above vertical center, in the horizontal center of the card face.
A sheer, pink, satin-trimmed ribbon, wrapped around the card face, below the prepared sentiment; tied, in a bow, just right of center; and embellished with a gray, pearlized button, laced with white string...
completes the look.
Thank you so much for peeking in!  Once again, please, be sure to check out the rest of the design team's creations, as well as the full reveal on Dawn's blog.  As always, have a great day; and please, join us, tomorrow, for our group post finale.

Wplus9 Dec. Release Sneak Peek: Day 2

Sunday, November 28, 2010

So glad to have you all visiting, today, for day two of Wplus9 Design's December, release, sneak peeks!  Today, we're showing off another, new, stamp set called Sweet Nothings.  It is filled, to the brim, with sweet, little sentiments and has a few images thrown in for good measure.  It, completely, inspired me to make a set of five, 3" beauties that would be perfect to surprise gift my favorite Valentine.
I just love the way they look all lined up like that, but let's take a closer look at each one.
I started this card by punching the heart from a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock; taping a piece of clear, packaging tape to its backside, with the sticky part coming through the punched heart; rubbing white glitter, into the punched heart, on that sticky part, to create my window; and adhering it to the right side of the Chocolate Chip, cardstock, card face.  The red, polka dot, patterned paper was punched, before being adhered, next to the heart-punched cardstock, on the left side of the Chocolate Chip, cardstock, card face.
I, then, wrapped a red, saddle stitch ribbon, vertically, between the two, around the card face; tied it, in a bow, just above horizontal center; and embellished it with a Pure Poppy button, laced with brown Baker's Twine, and a stamped, in Real Red ink, on Whisper White cardstock, which had three of its corners rounded, "i love you" sentiment.
Moving from left to right, across the line-up above...
I started this card by stamping the background, in Chocolate Chip ink, right on the Real Red, cardstock, card face.
I, then, stamped the heart, in Real Red ink, in the center of a 2", Pink Pirouette, cardstock square and the "you give me hope" sentiment, in Chocolate Chip ink, in the stamped heart's center.  Before adhering the sentiment cardstock, in the center of the plaid-looking cardstock, I ran a red-threaded, straight, machine-stitched frame around its outside edges, to complete the look.
The pretty, little number, right in the center of the line-up, boasts the only Pink Pirouette, cardstock, card face in the group.
I started this card by machine stitching, with red-threaded, straight stitches, a frame around the outside edges of a piece of floral, patterned paper and stamping the "take joy in the little things" sentiment, in Chocolate Chip ink, in its bottom center, just inside the stitched frame, before adhering it to the card face.
A striped, Pink Pirouette ribbon, wrapped around the card face; tied, in a bow, in the card face's center; and embellished with a brown button, laced with a red, Baker's Twine bow, completes the look.
Number four might just be my favorite!
I began this card by machine stitching a red-threaded, straight-stitch frame around the edges of a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock; embellished it, across its bottom, with a punched piece of red, gingham, patterned paper; and adhered it to the center of the Chocolate Chip, cardstock, card face.
A stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, in the center of the stitched frame, "i believe in you & me" sentiment and a fringed, red ribbon, wrapped around the card face, between the two, prepped papers, and tied, in a bow, front and center, complete the look.
Last, but, certainly, not least, is a cutie that utilized, not only Sweet Nothings, but also All Occasion Tags, which was released last month.
I started this card by machine stitching a red-threaded, straight-stitch frame around the edges of a 2-1/2" square of Chocolate Chip cardstock; stamping, in Chocolate Chip ink, in its bottom center, the "love always" sentiment; and adhering it to the Real Red, cardstock card face.
I, then, stamped the circle frame, in Chocolate Chip ink, on Whisper White cardstock; stamped, in Real Red ink, in the frame's center, the heart image; glittered the heart image; and adhered it to the center and overhanging the top edge of the card face itself.
I'll be back, tomorrow, with another card, boasting a sentiment, from Sweet Nothings, that you haven't yet seen here.  Believe it or not, that, still, won't cover all that this stamp set has to offer.  Don't forget to run check out the rest of the design team's fabulous creations, and have a wonderful day!

Wplus9 Dec. Release Sneak Peek: Day 1

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Welcome to another, fantastic, Wplus9 Design release!  I cannot tell you how excited and grateful I am to get to be a part of this amazing company!  We've got two stamp sets, for you all, this month.  Today we're showing off So 80's, and it is just that... so 80's!  The layout, that I created with this set, doesn't reveal it's true, 80's nature; but just look at that fact as this set's versatility, because, I have a super, 80's-inspired card coming, later in the week.
I started this layout by machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, a piece of blue, notebook, patterned paper onto the black, polka dot, patterned paper and layering a white, notebook, patterned paper, as well as a rusty, yellow, polka dot, patterned paper, both of which were anchored with random, black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, just inside that stitching, in the bottom right corner.
After adhering pictures (which I admit aren't the best.  The gym lighting, as well as Ezekiel's constant movement, made it super difficult to get a few, good takes.), I added a few, Whisper White, journal strips, which read, Gymnastics always put the biggest smile on your face.  You loved playing with the other kids, running the obstacles, chasing the bubbles, balancing on the beam, and getting your stamp at the end of class.  But most of all, you loved jumping on the trampoline.  June 2008
Next came the fun part!  I stamped the "Awesome" title, in Basic Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, which I had cut in the shape of a rocket.  I, then, paper pieced the boosters in Basic Gray cardstock; the stripe in Pacific Point cardstock; and the tip in leftover, rusty, yellow, polka dot, patterned paper, before adhering it, to the layout surface, with dimensionals.
The flames were stamped, in Summer Sun and Really Rust inks, below the boosters, on the white, notebook, patterned paper.
Finally, I clear embossed the star, in the center of a  Cricut-cut, from Pacific Point cardstock, star, and adhered it to the center of a fan flower, that I created with more, leftover, rusty, polka dot, pattered paper, a punch, and my score board.
I'd love to know what you love, as would Dawn and the rest of the design team.  So, be sure to run check out their creations; and I hope to see you all back here, tomorrow, for another sneak peek.  Have a fantastic week, ya'll!

Scrappy Saturday Challenge #33

Welcome to Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge #33: Bowtiful Ribbon Theme!
This week, you're playing for a bow maker from Charleston Scrapbook Company.  Be sure to check out all the details, for its use, on Jenny's blog.  Now, how about a little inspiration?
I started this card by adhering the punched, across its bottom edge, strip of red, polka dot, patterned paper near the bottom of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, whose upper corners had been rounded, and the chocolate, text, patterned paper, just above it, before machine stitching white-threaded, zig-zag stitches between the two and white-threaded, straight stitches around their edges.
I, then, stamped the "THANK you" sentiment, above my papers, in Chocolate Chip ink...
and began wrapping my color-coordinating ribbons, around the card face, and tying them in bows.
A length of Baker's Twine, wrapped around the card face, three times, below the ribbons and above the zig-zag stitching, and laced through a winter-themed, chipboard button, before being tied in a bow, rounds out the bow quartet.
A little glitter, added to the red, polka dot, patterned paper, and ink distressing, given to the card face itself, complete the look.
My color combination was inspired by Cupcake's Creations' Create for Fun: Color Challenge #5.
Now, start playing with those ribbons, bloggers!  You have until 11:59 pm PST, on Friday, December 2nd, to play along.  Looking forward to seeing all of your bowtiful creations!
