Scrappy Saturday Challenge #38

Saturday, January 8, 2011

So glad to have you all back with us, in 2011, at Wee Memories!  Today, we're bringing you a fun, fresh, new Challenge #38: Design With Twine.
Our sponsor, for this challenge, is, of course, The Twinery...
and your prize is a sampler pack (15 yards of each of 8 different colors)...
which is, exactly, what I used to make this fun, little creation.
I started, this project, by punching three, 1/2" circles from Whisper White cardstock; covering them with glue dots; and sticking the Pink Sorbet, Lilac, and Caribbean, twine loops to them to form the flowers' petals.
I, then, sandwiched sprigs of floral wire between their backs and more, punched, from Whisper White cardstock, 1/2" circles, just to give it a nice finished look.
Large buttons, one of which was embellished with a green pearl, dress up their centers and stamped, in Garden Green ink, on Garden Green cardstock, leaves complete their stems.  I just backed the leaves with another piece of Garden Green cardstock to finish off the backsides.
Finally, I prepped the wooden spool by wrapping Peapod twine around its middle and tying if off with a little bow...
as well as adhering a punched, from Whisper White cardstock, circle to its base to prevent the ends of the wire, floral stems from scratching any surfaces.
Now, it's your turn.  Show us what you can do with twine!  You have until Friday, January 14, 2011, at 11:59 pm PST, to link up your entries.  Hope you can find a little time to get inky and play with twine this week!  Enjoy, and have a fantastic weekend, ya'll!
