Welcome to Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge #41: Get Sketchy!
Our sponsor, for this week, is Simon Says Stamp with a $10 gift certificate up for grabs.  Yihoo!
Now, how about a little inspiration?  Since we're smack dab in the middle of our Wplus9 Design, February Release, I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you a little more of what we'll have available, for you, to purchase, in the online store, come this Tuesday, February 1, 2011.
I started, this card, by trimming the top edge of a piece of pink, heart, patterned paper with a punched strip of two-tone, pink, striped, patterned paper; adhering it near the top of the textured, Lavender Lace, cardstock, card face; and machine stitching, with light-purple-threaded, straight stitches, down the lengths of either of the pink, heart, patterned paper's short sides and, with light-purple-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the two patterned papers.
I, then, stamped the partial, "LOVE" sentiment, in Lavender Lace ink, just above the patterned papers and clear embossed the completed "Always" sentiment.  The former is, actually, four individual stamps.  So, you can turn them any which-way your little heart desires.  AND there are four, more, different, individual, letter stamps, to give you even more creative freedom, that come with Spring Post, which, as I said before, will be available for purchase this coming Monday.
The white, seam binding ribbon was, then, stained with Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist and wrapped around the card face, just at the base of the pink, heart patterned paper, before the cork heart was hand cut from a Cork Roll and adhered in place.  I just happened upon that Cork Roll, at Joann Fabrics, one day, just before Christmas and thought, "Hey, what fun this would be!"  It measures 2' x 1' and was, regularly, priced at $4.99, but I used my 40% off coupon and only paid $2.99.  Can't beat that!  It's fine grain, self healing, and has its own adhesive backing.  It, also, cuts like butter and was super easy to machine stitch those light-purple-threaded, straight stitches around its edges, which I was, pleasantly, surprised to discover.
It's made to line drawers and tool boxes or for use on coasters, hot pads, or under plants, but just think of the possibilities!
Once the cork heart was adhered and stitched into place, I tied the dyed, seam binding ribbon into a dressy bow, just to the left of the heart, and embellished it with a pink, Vintage-Style button, laced with a white string bow.
Finally, the little butterfly, which is from Flora & Fauna I and will, also, be available, for purchase, this coming Monday, was stamped, in Lavender Lace ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; spritzed with Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist to create texture and shine; hand cut out; and adhered, near the bottom right edge of the cork heart, just at its wings.  Sooo wish you could see that shine!
A little distressing, of the edges of the card, with Moonlight White ink, completes the look.
My color inspiration, for this card, came from the Pretty Pastels Color Challenge, for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week, in the Moxie Fab World.
You have until Friday, February 4, 2011, at 11:59 pm PST, to link up your entries.  As always, I'm, really, looking forward to seeing what you all create.  Thanks for stopping by, and please be sure to run check out what all the other ladies have, for you, today, by clicking on their individual links in my blog's left column or running to the challenge link above.  Have a great weekend, everyone!
