WMSC #30 & TSTR #45

Thursday, January 20, 2011

I'm coming to you all, late tonight, buried, in a warm, cozy house, under a blanket of snow and, anxiously, anticipating more on the way, with a card I had so much fun making.
I started, this card, by piecing together all those scrumptious papers and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches between each connection and with white-threaded, straight stitches around their outside edges, before adhering the prepped piece to the Daffodil Delight, cardstock, card face.  I, then, distressed their edges with Ivory White, acrylic paint and a dry brush.
A crinkled, white, seam binding ribbon was wrapped around the card face, vertically, just left of center; tied in a dressy bow; and embellished with a yellow button, stacked on a chipboard button and laced with a length of yellow yarn, as well as two, embellished, stick pins and a chipboard element, which had been painted with Ivory White, acrylic paint, distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, and glittered.
The yellow, glitter, chipboard alphas create my "hello" sentiment in the bottom right corner...
and complete the look.
My inspiration, for this card, came from Waltzingmouse's Sketch Challenge #30...
and The Shabby Tea Room's Week #45: White and Bright to create a card or project using white and/or cream plus only one additional color.  You can see that my choice came directly from that beautiful, inspiration photo.
I'm off to put my hubby to bed.  He's been working so hard!  Love you, baby!  Oh!  But before I run, I'm so excited, to tell you all, that I was named a Sketchy Thursdays Fave for this layout...
AND this pretty thing was featured, on CREATE:, for CARDS' Butterflies Challenge, both TODAY!  Thanks so much to all the ladies who made these recognitions possible!  My cup runneth over!  Have a wonderful night, everyone!
