Wplus9 Feb. Release Sneak Peeks: Day 2

Friday, January 28, 2011

Good morning, and welcome back for another Wplus9 Design February Release Sneak Peek!
I started this card by stamping, in Crumb Cake ink, the butterfly image, from Flora & Fauna I, randomly, running in a vertical line the length of my Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face...
spritzing the entire thing with Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip inks; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and adhering a piece of black, polka dot, patterned paper, which had been machine stitched, around its edges, with white-threaded, straight stitches, in its bottom right corner.
I, then, wrapped a length of red, gingham ribbon around the card face, just below horizontal center; tied it, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face; and embellished it with a Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine, as well as a stamped, in Chocolate Chip and Real Red inks, on a Cricut-cut, Whisper White, cardstock tag, "BIRTHDAY Wishes" sentiment, which was, in turn, distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.  I'm giving you a little taste of tomorrow's reveal, Spring Post, with that sentiment ;).
Finally, I stamped the cardinal image, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; colored him in with Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, Wild Wasabi, and Chocolate Chip inks and a blender pen; ink distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; paper distressed its edges; and adhered it, in the bottom center of the card face, over all existing layers, just right of the embellished bow.
A little glitter, added to the dogwood blossoms, completes the look.
Thanks again for stopping by; be sure to come back, tomorrow, for another, little, sneak peek; and don't forget to run check out all the fabulosities the rest of the design team has cooked up, for you all, today.

Your card is just stunning! I always love sewing on a card (even though I'm horrible at it myself)!
