CASE Study Challenge #24

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

I stole away for a little, much-needed, creative time, tonight, and am sneaking this one in, just under the wire, for the challenge below.
I started this card by adhering a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the center of a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock and machine stitching, with aqua-threaded, straight stitches, a double frame around its outside edges, before adhering it over a length of white, seam binding ribbon, which had been wrapped around the textured, Pumpkin Pie, cardstock, card face.  The white, seam binding ribbon was, then, tied in a dressy bow to the right side of the prepped piece.
I, then, stamped the flower images, in Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise inks, on Whisper White cardstock; hand cut them out; layered one on top of another; ruffled up their edges; and embellished their centers with orange buttons, laced with white string, and their edges with stamped, in Old Olive ink, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand cut leaves, before adhering them, in their respective locations, to the card face.
A stamped, in Tempting Turquoise ink, just inside the bottom right corner of the stitched frame, "you make my life a beautiful thing" sentiment...
and a little rounding, of the bottom corners, of the card face, complete the look.
My inspiration, for this card, came from this gorgeous creation from CASE Study's January muse Mercy Kerin for Challenge #24.
It's past my bedtime, and I've got little ones that will be calling my name long before I'm ready to drag myself out of bed.  Is it Friday yet?  LOL!  So, I'd better run; but thank you so much, as always, for peeking in!  You all are so appreciated!
