Wplus9 March Release: Group Post

Monday, February 28, 2011

Welcome to Wplus9 Design's March Release: Group Post!  I promised you all a look at RetroGirly Birthday in yesterday's post, and I'm here, today, to deliver.  RetroGirly Birthday is another, awesome set in our very own Kerrianne Gwin's series.  HUGE props to you, Kerrianne!  She's fantastic!
I started this card by punching a piece of multi-colored, number, patterned paper across its bottom; trimming it, just below that punched edge, with a strip of red, polka dot, patterned paper; machine stitching, with red-threaded, straight stitches, photo corners in the top corners; and adhering it to the Barely Banana, cardstock card face.  I, then, wrapped an aqua, crinkle ribbon, around the card face and tied it, in a bow, near the right edge of the card face.
My image was, then, stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, which had be cut in the shape of an oval; colored in with Blush Blossom, Real Red, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, & Barely Banana inks and a blender pen...
distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and stamped with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, in Real Red ink, curved around the left edge (This is one of my many favorite things about acrylic stamps.  Even though this sentiment arrived, in its package, in a straight line, I was able to bend and mold it to a desired alternative.), before being adhered, in the center of the card face, just to the left of my ribbon bow, with dimensionals.
A couple of Pure Poppy buttons, laced with white string and adhered at the tips of my punched scallops...
complete the look.
So, what do ya think?  Another couple of beauties this month... Right?!  The girls are on a roll!  Both RetroGirly Birthday...

I don't think you could have picked a color combo to SHOW off this amazing girl, any MORE! Seriously, Jinny - you made her SO real! With, kind of a "kid-friendly" palette, this reminds me of US - MOMS! Trying to keep the balance: Motherhood & ourselves! I simply ADORE the essence of this card on MANY, many levels! WONDERFUL, wonderful work, my dear! Yipeeee!
