CASE Study #31 & Totally Hues #4

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Well, we made it through our first day back to school with flying colors!  Woohoo!  Hopefully, we'll be able to finish the year out focused and on track, despite the gorgeous weather we've been having.  So, in honor of the warm temperatures, beautiful sunshine, and budding blossoms, I thought that it would be fun to put together a little, springtime beauty, for you all, today.
I started this card by stamping the butterfly design, in Perfect Plum ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; distressing the edges of it with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhering it to a piece of Perfect Plum cardstock, which had been dry embossed with a flourish design; machine stitching a black-threaded, straight-stitch frame around its edges; stamping the "HELLO" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, in its bottom right corner; and finally, adhering it to the Barely Banana, cardstock, card face.
I, then, wrapped a bright pink, sheer ribbon, vertically, around the left side of the card face and tied it, in a bow, just above horizontal center.  The leaves were stamped, in Old Olive ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; hand cut it out; and adhered, with dimensionals, arching up over the top right corner of the stamped piece.  The butterfly was stamped, in Perfect Plum ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; glittered; hand cut out; adhered, just at its center, with a dimensional, near the base of the stamped, leafy image; and embellished with a bright pink, flower button, laced with white string...
to complete the look.
My inspiration for this card came from this beauty, created by CASE Study's March Muse Julee Tilman, for Challenge #31...
and Heather Pulvirenti's Totally Hues: Challenge #4.
That's all, from my neck of the woods, for today, ya'll.  If this is your first time stopping by, today, please be sure to check out the fun pics, from our trip to the Topeka Zoo, that I posted earlier.  Thanks so much for peeking in, and I hope you'll find a little time to enjoy the weather, whatever it may look like, where you are!  Hugs!
