Embellish Color Trends Challenge With Birds

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Good afternoon, and what a gorgeous one it is at that!  It's so hard to believe that, with highs in the low 60's and beautiful, sunny skies, our weather people are predicting snow for tomorrow.  Ugh!  Kansas weather!  Anyway, I have a sweet, little number, for you all, today.  Oh!  And if you've come here looking for the brand spankin' new PDCC71, please, by all means, scroll down!
I started, this card, by stamping the leaf image, in Chocolate chip ink, on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock; cutting straight around it, while leaving the top left corner to hand cut around; distressing it with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhering it to a piece of Brocade Blue cardstock and trimming it in the same way as the previous piece; machine stitching, with blue-threaded, straight stitches, around its straight sides; spritzing it with Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, and Brocade Blue inks; and finally, glittering the leaves.
It was, then, set aside to prep the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, which was dry embossed with the music sheet design; distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; spritzed with Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, and Brocade Blue inks; and had a Dark Chocolate, grosgrain ribbon wrapped, vertically, around it, which was, in turn, tied, in a bow, near the top edge of the card face and embellished with a stamped, in Brocade Blue ink, on a piece of hand-cut, Very Vanilla cardstock, "a {note} of appreciation" sentiment.
I, then, adhered my prepped, leafy piece, with dimensionals, in the bottom center of the card face, right over the ribbon and just below the bow.  The canvas house was adhered, with dimensionals, near the right edge of the leafy piece; and the bird, which was stamped, in Brocade Blue and Chocolate Chip inks, on Very Vanilla cardstock and hand cut out, was adhered, yet again, with dimensionals, in the bottom right corner of the house...
to complete the look.
My inspiration, for this card, came from Embellish's Color Trends Challenge With Birds.
That's all, for now, folks!  But I'll be back, with yet another, fun take, later tonight.  Until then, keep those stamps inky and creative imaginations churning!  Hugs!
