How about a little inspiration to get you going with that bold, new color story?
I started this layout by adhering my pics and a blue, polka dot, pattered, paper rectangle, which was also anchored with a white-threaded, straight-stitch frame, in a grid pattern, on the textured, Whisper White, cardstock page.  I, then, added a punched strip of turquoise, patterned paper, horizontally, along the edge of the bottom picture and a shortened, scalloped die-cut along the bottom edge of the top picture and paper rectangle and ran white-threaded, straight, machine stitches along their top edges.
The blue, polka dot, pattered, paper rectangle was then dressed with two, layered, Cricut-cut, from patterned papers, hearts and embellished with a few, green, embroidery floss stitches.
My "how sweet it is 2 b loved by U" title was made from various, alpha stickers, some of which were anchored with messy, white-threaded, straight stitches; painted, glittered, and patterned paper covered, chipboard numbers and letters; a stamped, in Garden Green ink, banner sticker, which was attached to a heart stick pin and anchored with more green, embroidery floss stitches; and a stamped, in Basic Black ink, turquoise, label die-cut.
A few more green, embroidery floss stitches...
and Whisper White, cardstock, journaling strips, upon which were written, You are so blessed to have a big brother that thinks the world of you and has so much love to share.  2.19.09, complete the look.
My inspiration for this layout came, not only from the fabulous color story above, but also from this March Pagemap from Becky Fleck.
