Sketchy Thursdays & CCG186

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Good morning!  Today's library day around our house, so we'll be off in a bit; but before I run do those millions of things that call my name every day and in order to get ready to go, I've got a fun layout for you all.
I started this layout by painting and splattering my soft yellow, textured, cardstock page with Winter White, acrylic paint; layering lots of punched, across their bottom edges, strips of patterned paper, haphazardly, across the bottom of the page; tucking a "MAR" Bingo card, near the left edge of the layout, under them; and anchoring each one, across their top edges, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, running over onto the page itself.
After adhering my photograph, I hand-stitched, with light yellow, embroidery floss, photo corners near the top left and bottom right corners and tucked a "TODAY'S DATE IS" tab, which had been labeled with the March 12, 2010 date, under its bottom left edge.  I, then, created my "a brand new PERSPECTIVE" title from alpha stickers, alpha chips, a die-cut "n" and teal label, and Cricut-cut, from Basic Gray cardstock, letters.
LOVE this little cluster of goodies, including a canvas tag; a die-cut label, strung with light yellow, embroidery floss; a teal, paper rose; a soft yellow, resin flower; and a die-cut, text strip!
Finally, a few, raised, Whisper White, cardstock strips, upon which was journaled, New glasses from Dr. Honson make you look even more handsome, complete the look.
My inspiration for this layout came from Sketchy Thursdays' current sketch (I tipped it 90 degrees to the right.)...
and Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #186.
K... I'm off like a flash, but I'll be back, late tonight, with a brand new, bold and bright, color story from The Play Date Cafe.  Until then, have a wonderful Wednesday, ya'll!  And thanks ever so much for peeking in!
