Color Cue {15}

Saturday, May 14, 2011

I cannot tell you all how much I missed not having a release this month!  LOVE all the excitement that surrounds you all getting to see Dawn's amazing sets for the first time and us designers getting to show you all a little of what they can do.  Then, us getting to see what you all do with them, in your own homes, just tips the scale!  I missed it so, but we're back with a brand new Color Cue {15} and hot to trot to show off what Wplus9 Design has in store, for you creative spirits, over the next few weeks, months, and years.
So, without further ado, please check out my Color Cue creation.
Believe it or not, I started this layout with stamping!  Woohoo!  I stamped that gorgeous, butterfly image, from Flora & Fauna I, in Baja Breeze ink and one in Crumb Cake ink, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and trimmed it, across its top edge, with a piece of yellow DSP.
I, then, stamped the lacy edge, just below the yellow DSP, in Crumb Cake ink, using Mehndi Medallions; topped it with a strip of decorative tape; adhered a distressed, rose, journaling card and vintage, coat tag in the bottom right corner; and adhered the prepped piece to the rose cardstock, before machine stitching, with yellow-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges.
The "NEW FAMILY" title was created with chipboard alphas and by stamping the "NEW", from Classic Christmas, over the cluster of the vintage, coat tag; journaling card; and yellow, sticker arrow.
A length of So Saffron, grosgrain ribbon was anchored across the top of the decorative tape.  Our first, family picture, in the hospital, after my daughter was born was then positioned over it and embellished above with a "NOV" Bingo card...
and to the left with a So Saffron, grosgrain, ribbon bow; vintage, pattern flower; chipboard button, laced with what string; kraft tag, laced with white string and stamped, in Rose Red and White inks, with the "LOVE You", from Spring Post, subtitle; and white embossed, on vellum, butterfly, which was hand cut out and adhered, just at its center, to complete the look.
Okay, ya'll!  Now, it's your turn!  You have until Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 10:59 pm EST, to link up your takes.  I cannot wait to see what you all come up with, but before you dash for your creative spaces, please be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team has done, just for you, with this Color Cue.  And thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful page Jinny. Thanks for showing us how stamps can be used on a layout. I've never tried it before. Gotta give it a try while I'm off this summer. :)
