PDCC82 - Discount Cardstock

Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #82!
Our sponsor for this week is Discount Cardstock.
The suitcases, in Ruby's color story above, totally drew me to hunting through old vacation photos to put together this sweet, little layout of a couple of my favorite people.
I started this layout by piecing together the aqua, decorative, and brown, butterfly, patterned papers; adhering them to the yellow, cardstock base; machine stitching, with yellow-threaded, straight stitches, around their edges; and dressing the space between them with an aqua, polka dot, scallop, die-cut trim, which was anchored, across its base, with yellow-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.
After positioning my pictures, I adhered a brown, journaling card near the bottom right corner of the layout; dressed it up above with aqua alphas to create the "awe inspired" title, which was anchored with yellow-threaded, messy, straight stitches, tied off to either side of the words, and to the left with a yellow label, upon which I wrote, Henry Doorly Zoo, July 24, 2009; and finally, journaled, on the card itself, It was Adina's 1st time in a butterfly pavilion, and she was in complete awe.  I'd never seen her so in tune with anything, and it put the biggest smiles on our faces.
Near the top left corner is a "true beauty", sticker subtitle, which I anchored, to either side, with yellow, embroidery floss, hand stitches...
and near the top right corner is a wood butterfly, laced with a white, string bow, to complete the look.
That's all from me, ya'll!  Now, let's see what you've got!  You have until Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at 11:59 pm EST, to link up your takes.  But first, be sure to drop by the challenge link above to see what you're playing for and to help us welcome this week's Guest Designer, Laura Davis.  This girl knows how to rock out scallops and big, fluffy bows, ya'll; and that's not to say anything for the high-class, design teams she's a part of.  So good to have you, Laura!  Thanks for stopping by, and have a terrific Thursday, everyone!
