SIT #46 & CCG #190

It's another day in the Newlin household.  The sickies are still holding their ground, but we're trying not to let them get in the way of all that still needs to be accomplished or of us enjoying the beautiful, springtime weather.  So, I have a sweet, little layout of my kiddos, nearly two years ago, now, for you all, today.  Gosh!  I really need to catch up on my scrapping!
I started this layout by tearing a large piece of green, polka dot, patterned paper across its bottom edge; adhering it near the top right corner of the mutli-colored, stripe, patterned, paper base, which had been distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and machine stitching, with yellow-threaded, straight stitches, a double frame, on three sides, running over onto the base page itself.  I, then, adhered a couple strips of patterned paper, horizontally, just about where the tear begins and anchored them with yellow-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before dressing them up with a brown, die-cut scallop.
The "friends forever" title is a foil, adhesive transfer.  Another, shorter, die-cut scallop was also adhered between the two pics, before I added the star-studded, journaling card just inside the polka dot, patterned paper, stitching lines; anchored it, on three sides, with yellow-threaded, zig-zag stitches; journaled, in Chocolate Chip ink, You're so blessed to have one another forever and always...
and dressed it up below with a script die; yellow, vintage broach; and stamped, in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip inks, on a Whisper White, cardstock die, and glittered, "MY sister, MY friend" subtitle.
A green, photo corner and paper, date tab, upon which I journaled July 31, '09; a glittered cluster of die-cuts, including the long, brown strip, which reads "sometimes I wish it were yesterday"; and a green button, laced with Baker's Twine, complete the look.
My inspiration for this layout came from Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #46...
and Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #190.
That's all from my neck of the woods, ya'll!  Thanks for peeking in, and please remember that you still have until the close of today EST to link up your takes on The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #79.  Have a terrific Tuesday!
