Welcome to Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #48!
I know that it's Team B's turn, but I couldn't help playing along, too!  And since I know you didn't come here to listen to me ramble, let's get right to my take.
I started this page by adhering the green, damask, patterned paper in the bottom, right corner of the aqua, bird, patterned paper; machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges; positioning my pictures; and embellishing them, across their bottom edge, with a gray, die-cut trim.  I, then, adhered the postcard die-cut in and overlapping the bottom, left corner of the green, damask, patterned paper; journaled, in Basic Gray ink, We just love to go hiking and hunt for treasures like we found here.  This was our last stop before lunch and the trip home, and everyone was all smiles despite the exhaustion from camping.  1. robin egg shells  2. lizards  3. bird feathers  4. shiny rocks...
anchored it with periwinkle-threaded, straight, machine stitches; and stamped, in Almost Amethyst ink, the postmark and May 29 date.  The camera washes it out a bit, but know that it's there and very readable in real life.  I wanted it to be subtle.  Mission accomplished!
The "HAPPY Hikers" title is made from wood and periwinkle alphas, the latter of which were anchored with messy, periwinkle-threaded, straight stitches, tied, in knots, at either end.  A periwinkle, striped, patterned-paper-covered, chipboard bird with a black, crystal eye...
and "be true." die-cut, which was anchored with more, periwinkle-threaded, straight, machine stitches, preps the layout for stamping.  The dogwood images were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on Whisper White cardstock; colored with Almost Amethyst and Wild Wasabi inks and a blender pen; hand cut out; and adhered, to the layout, some flat and others with dimensionals, but both with their leaves curled.
Finally, I used an Almost Amethyst Stampin' Write Marker and a blender pen to give a little life to the dogwoods on the aqua, bird, patterned paper, to complete the look.  LOVE the way they match the stamped images so perfectly!  I'm telling you, Dawn Woleslagle is the queen of stamp set illustrations, ya'll!
Further inspiration for this layout came from Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #192...
and my fabulous, May, Jenni Bowlin kit.
