Sketchy Thursdays & CCG #191

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

It's another busy day around our house!  We're actually heading out in just a bit, but before we do, I wanted to share a layout of my sweet girl.
I started this layout by machine stitching, with gold-threaded, straight stitches, a double, rectangular frame, just above horizontal center; filling it in with lots of punched, patterned, paper circles; and distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.
I, then, adhered my photos, which had first been framed, in a photo-reel-type-fashion, with Whisper White cardstock.  The inside photos were topped with a square of Barely Banana cardstock, as well as a die-cut, journaling card, upon which I stamped, in Always Artichoke ink, "JUST A NOTE"; journaled, in Basic Black ink, Nothing beats a scrumptious dinner followed up by a mint brownie.  12/23/09; and embellished with a punched, from an olive, patterned paper, and adhered, with dimensionals, photo corner.
The "brownie Face" title was created from alpha stickers, which were anchored with gold-threaded, messy stitches, tied, in knots, at either end, and green, glitter Thickers.
A "the GOOD STUFF" die-cut; trio of yellow brads; yellow button, laced with white string; and length of Honeydew Twine, laced through a punched hole in one of the punched, patterned, paper circles and tied in a bow, complete the look.
My inspiration for this layout came from Sketchy Thursdays' current sketch...
and Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #191.
Oh!  And we've been waiting and waiting for my irises to grace us with their presence.  It just seemed that maybe they weren't going to show this year.  Then, out of the blue, look at the beauty we discovered yesterday morning!
I'll be back, tonight, with a brand new color story from The Play Date Cafe.  Until then, enjoy your Wednesday, ya'll!  And thanks ever so much for popping in on me!
