Wplus9 June Release Sneak Peek: Day 3

Sunday, May 29, 2011

So, I've got that layout that I promised you all, in yesterday's post, for Wplus9 Design's June Release Sneak Peek: Day 3, today.  Let's just dive right in!
I started this two-page layout by splattering the Baja Breeze, cardstock base with Ivory White, acrylic paint and stamping the journaling lines, from From the Kitchen Of, in Baja Breeze ink, right in the center of it all.  That's where I wrote, in Basic Gray ink, It's not very often that we get to celebrate birthdays with the rest of the family because of the distance, so we counted ourselves blessed to be in town for Madison's big day.  What a beautiful, young lady she has grown up to be!  April 24, 2010.
I, then, turned to the left side...
adhered a couple of strips of patterned papers, haphazardly, in the vertical center of the page, just below my stamped, journaling lines; trimmed them, along their bottom edge, with hand-cut, patterned paper doilies; and machine stitched, with red-threaded, straight stitches, along the top and bottom edges of the patterned, paper strips.
After adhering pictures, I stamped the "Make a Wish!" subtitle, in Basic Gray ink, just to the left of the left-hand picture...
and trimmed out portions of the top and bottom edges, of the layout itself, with strips of patterned papers and punched, Real Red cardstock, all of which were anchored with bits of red-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches and the bottom of which served as the foundation for my "madison @ 10-yrs.-old" title, which was created with an alpha "m" and my own handwriting.
After positioning pictures on the right side of the layout...
I tucked in a few, more, hand-cut, patterned, paper doilies and trimmed the bottom edge with more, patterned, paper and punched, Real Red, cardstock strips, anchored with zig-zag stitches.
The pendants, on both sides of the layout, were die-cut from a red, polka dot, patterned paper; machine stitched, twice, along their top edges; tied, in knots, at their ends; and had dimensionals tucked under their bottom edges for a little, added interest and dimension.
Finally, I stamped that dotted line, in Baja Breeze ink, all around the bottom, top, and outside edges of everything and tossed in a few, silver pearls for good measure.
Thanks so much for peeking in, ya'll; and please come on back, tomorrow, for one more day of fabulous, sneak peeks, before Group Post day!  Now, off you go to check out what the rest of the super, talented team has up their sleeves.  Oh!  And be sure to leave a comment, for each day of the release, over at Dawn's blog, for your chance to win some of this month's yummy, release treats!  Woohoo!

This is one of my favorite layouts Jinny! Love the combo of doilies and banners. Two traditionally different styles, but the colors you've chosen really harmonize these elements. Just fabulous!
