CR84FN30 & CPS 220

It has been such a different day.  My two, extra kiddos have gone on to Grandma's for a couple more days, until their parents, my sister and her hubby, get home from Cancun, and our normal routine has kicked back in.  Ezekiel is back to sleeping in his own bed.  He graciously gave it up, so his cousins would have a place to sleep, but he just wasn't sleeping well on the couch.  Poor thing!  But we didn't have anywhere else for him to go.  He's looked so tired the last couple of days, too.  I'm hoping after a nice, relaxing weekend, he'll be back to his old self, especially because Vacation Bible School starts next week.  He can't wait!  Anyway, you didn't come here to listen to me ramble or go on and on about my life and my kiddos, you came to see something creative.  So, how's this?
I started this card by adhering a piece of kraft, text, patterned paper to a piece of yellow, decorative, patterned paper; machine stitching around its edges with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches; trimming its bottom edge with a piece of yellow and blue, star, patterned paper, which had its bottom corners rounded; and finally, machine stitching around the punched piece's edges with white-threaded, straight stitches.  After framing the whole piece with a light blue, swirl, patterned paper, it was adhered to the textured, Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I, then, stamped the elephant, twice, in Bashful Blue ink, on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock; hand cut out the entire elephant from one stamped image and the ear out of the second stamped image; layered them, with dimensionals, over the kraft, text, patterned paper; tucked a punched, from Very Vanilla cardstock, cloud, which had its edges distressed with Antique Linen ink, behind its top left edge; and embellished it all with a yellow butterfly and google eye.
Finally, I wrapped a length of white, seam binding ribbon around the bottom half of the card face; tied it, in a dressy bow, just right of center; and embellished it with a wood button and a white embossed, "adorable", kraft tag, both of which were laced with blue Baker's Twine...
to complete the look.
My inspiration for this card came from Create For Fun's Color Challenge #30...
and Card Positioning Systems' Sketch #220.
I'm also beyond thrilled to share that this layout was a Sketchy Thursdays' Fave this morning!  Woohoo!  This is one of my absolute favorite layout challenges, and the Design Team never fails to challenge and inspire me, all at the same time, week after week!  Thanks ever so much, ladies!
And thank you, to you all, for stopping by!  I hope you have a fantastic Friday!  Oh!  And please be sure to make a stop by Sketches in Thyme.  Our May Top 3 and Winner have been posted.  Congratulations, talented scrappers!  We'll be back again, next Thursday, with the first of three, brand new, June challenges.  Until then, keep those ink pads juicy and your creative ideas flowing.  Hugs!
