Guest Designing for DYSU #25

Note:  If you've come here looking for my PDCC87 - Stampendous post, please scroll down.

I'm uber thrilled to be Do You Stack Up?'s Challenge #25 Guest Designer this week!  Woohoo!  So, before I get any further, I simply must send a HUGE thank you out to Alison and her talented crew for having me, as well as to Janna for leading me every step of the way.  Ya'll are the greatest!  With that said, check out this gorgeous color story!
I was blessed enough to get to work with Hailey the Sunflower Fairy, from Whimsy Stamps, and created this.
I started this card by printing off the image on Whisper White cardstock; a mustard, gingham, patterned paper; and a pink, polka dot, patterned paper.  I then cut the Whisper White, cardstock image in the shape of a circle; paper-pieced the mustard, gingham, patterned paper into the flower, overhanging the edge of the Whisper White, cardstock circle...
as well as the pink, polka dot, patterned paper into the fairy wings; and colored the rest of the image in shades of Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, and Perfect Plum inks with a blender pen, before framing it with a slightly larger, Perfect Plum, cardstock circle and machine stitching, around its edges, with mauve-threaded, straight stitches.
The bottom of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, which also had its top left corner rounded, was trimmed with a strip of pink, floral, patterned paper, stacked above a punched strip of mustard, gingham, patterned paper.  I then machine stitched, with purple-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between their connections.
A length of white, seam binding ribbon was wrapped, around the card face, over the pink, floral, patterned papers' center; tied, in a dressy bow, near the right edge of the card face; and embellished with a pink, Vintage-Style button, laced with two, hemp twine bows, as well as a stamped, in Perfect Plum ink, on a hand-cut, Whisper White, cardstock tag, "Hey Sweetie!" sentiment, which was framed with Pretty in Pink cardstock and adhered with dimensionals.
A trio of mustard gemstones...
completes the look.
Super excited to see what you all have up your sleeves for this color combo!  So, mosey on over and join in the fun!  You have until 2 pm MST, next Wednesday, June 29, 2010, to link up your entries over at the challenge link above.  Oh!  And please be sure to also use that link to check out the Design Team's creations, as well as to find out what prize you're playing for this week, too.  Thanks ever so much for peeking in!  Have a great one!
