Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #86!
What a gorgeous, summer color story of hollyhock, soft sky, and orange!  Check out what it inspired me to create!
I started this card by Cricut-cutting three, 4-1/2" circles from Whisper White cardstock and machine stitching one of those circles, with hot-pink-threaded, straight stitches, to the back of a Cricut-cut circle of turquoise, pattern, patterned paper, just for added stability.  I then trimmed it, across its middle, from bottom to top, with a strip of hot pink, patterned paper; a punched strip of turquoise and hot pink, floral, patterned paper; and a hot pink, scallop, die-cut strip, before machine stitching, with hot-pink-threaded, straight stitches, across the length of the bottom edge of the bottom strip.
A few, orange-threaded, hand stitches prepped the piece for the second, Whisper White, cardstock circle, which was adhered to the back of the front piece, just to cover up all the messy backstitches.  I then wet embossed the "CONGRATS" sentiment with Melon Mambo embossing powder...
wrapped a length of white, seam binding ribbon between the top, two, paper-strip pieces; tied it, in a dressy bow, just to the left of vertical center; and embellished it with an orange button, laced with white string, and a white, vintage, lace flower...
to complete the look.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  But, as always, please be sure to also use that link to see what the rest of these creative geniuses, that I'm ever so lucky to be designing with, have up their sleeves, as well as to help us welcome this week's Guest Designer, Tami Mayberry, who's got her own little prize for this week's winner.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a terrific Thursday!

I always love circular cards, they are just fab! Love how you've done your little stitching and the papers are adorable, they remind me of books my Mum had when she was growing up! Thanks for the fun memories!
