PDCC91 - The Twinery

Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #91!
Our sponsor for this week is The Twinery.
I absolutely LOVE a good Color Splash week!  Remember that Color Splash week is black and white with a splash of color, and you get to choose your own splash of color this time.  All of us Designers, this week, are using The Twinery Twine to inspire our splashes.  I chose Maraschino simply because red, combined with black and white, has become one of my favorites.
I started this card by piecing together the black, chain link, patterned paper and the red, floral, patterned paper, as well as the punched strip of black, gingham, patterned paper and machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of the prepped piece, before adhering it to the Basic Black, cardstock, card face.
I then stamped the frame, in Jet Black ink, on vellum; filled it in with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, butterfly image; white embossed the "BIRTHDAY Blessings" sentiment over its center; hand cut out the prepped piece; and adhered it in the bottom right corner of the patterned paper piece.
A bit of black and white, polka dot, rosette trim and a length of Maraschino Twine, which was wrapped around the card face, just to the right of the rosette trim and the left of the stamped and embossed frame, three times; tied in a dressy bow; and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with more Maraschino Twine...
complete the look.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, to link up your entries over at the challenge link above.  Please be sure to also use that link to check out this week's prize and to see what the rest of the team has created with their Twinery Twine.  This is also the last week for our dear Fiona Shultz to be participating on the team with us, and I know that she'd be beyond grateful if you'd all drop by her blog and wish her well.  This girl is a sweetie from head to toe, and that's not to say a thing for her genius crafting abilities!  She will be greatly missed, but I don't doubt that we'll be seeing lots more of what she has to offer in the coming days, months, and years.  Love you, girl!  And thanks so much, to you all, for dropping by!

Gorgeous! One of my favorite combos is black/white/red and you rocked this one! That frayed ribbon is delightful next to the vibrant twine and that butterfly is divine!
