So glad to have you back visiting for Sketches in Thyme's  July Open Challenge!
We've got two Open Challenges coming your way this month, so be on the look-out for a great sketch to add to Team B's takes next week, too, in order to be eligible to become one of our Top Three and/or to be in the running for a $15 gift certificate to Freehand Scraps.
I chose Sketchabilities' Sketch #51...
and came up with this.
I started this layout by adhering a piece of floral, cross-stitch, patterned paper to the soft orange, distressed, with a sanding tool, cardstock, just above horizontal center and machine stitching, with gray-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges.  A couple, more, coordinating, patterned papers, adhered haphazardly and anchored, across their top and bottom edges, with gray-threaded, straight, machine stitches, prep the base for pictures.
My "happy to be your MOM" title was created from gray, polka dot and orange, mini and glitter alphas and rounded out with an aqua, die-cut arrow, pointing to my cuties.
The banner was die-cut from a variety of color-coordinating, patterned papers; adhered, across the top of the layout, with foam tape; secured, along their top edges, with gray-threaded, straight, machine stitches; and dressed up, at both ends, with white, string bows.
I then tucked a soft orange, journaling card under the bottom, two pictures and journaled, in Basic Gray ink, I am the absolute luckiest mom EVER!!  So much {love}.
A trio of gray, polka dot, sticker hearts, anchored with gray-threaded, straight, machine stitches...
length of blue, tutu trim, wrapped around its center point to create a fluffy flower and embellished with an orange button, laced with white string; couple of stickers, including the 9/17/09 date; and a stamped, in Baja Breeze and Marina Mist inks, on Whisper White cardstock, hand cut, and glittered butterfly, complete the look.
Color inspiration for this layout came from Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #200.
Now, it's your turn!  Show us what you've got up your sleeves!  Remember that Open Challenge week means you can link up any new creation you've made, using any sketch.  Try out a sketch from a favorite blog or create your own.  As long as you use a sketch, you can enter the challenge.  You have until the close of the month, on Sunday, July 31, 2011, to link up your entries over in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog.  And please be sure to run by the challenge link above to see what a few more of the girls, on this talented team, have created just for you all.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  And have a terrific Thursday!
