Wplus9 July Release Sneak Peek: Day 1

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Welcome to Wplus9 Design's, belated, July, release sneak peeks!  We're into Day 1 and have so much to share with you all.  I sooo wish there was more time in a day to play with these fabulous stamp sets Dawn has cooked up, this month, for all you creative people!  They're just packed to the brim and overflowing with so many goodies for literally hundreds of design options!  Today, I'll be showing you all a little from two of the new, stamps sets, C'est la vie and Defining Words (The latter of which I've managed to tie into Days 2 and 3, too.), as well as one of two, new dies, Label Layers 2.  Check it out!
I started this card by distressing the edges of a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; rounding its left-side corners; and stamping it, in Antique Linen ink, with the friend  text and over that, in Tea Dye ink, with the bumble bee images.
I then trimmed it, down its right side with both the aqua, floral, and punched, red, polka dot, patterned papers...
dressed it up with a punched strip of Baja Breeze cardstock, adhered, horizontally, near the bottom of the stamped piece; and machine stitched, with red-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of the prepped piece and along the length of the top of the punched, Baja Breeze, cardstock strip, before adhering it to the Perfect Plum, cardstock, card face.
A length of seam binding ribbon, which had been crinkled and stained with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist, was wrapped, vertically, around the card face, between the stamped and punched, patterned, paper piece; tied, in a dressy bow, near the top edge of the card face; and embellished with a plum button, laced with Baker's Twine bows.
The flourish frame was stamped, in Perfect Plum ink, on a Whisper White, cardstock die-cut from the Label Layers 2 die.  It was then distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamped, in Ruby Red ink, with the "Je t'aime" sentiment, as well as, in Baja Breeze ink, with the bumble bee image; and adhered, with foam tape, tucked under the embellished bow.
A little glitter to perk up the lone, bumble bee image; a handful of gemstones to add shine to the punched and stitched, cardstock strip; and a spritz or two of Ruby Red and Crumb Cake inks, complete the look.
This card was also created for the Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge, to create a card in which stamping is the predominant element, in the Moxie Fab World and Card Pattern's Sketch 122, which I rotated 90 degrees to the left.
That's it, from here, for today, ya'll!  Thank you so very much for stopping by, and I hope to see you all back here, tomorrow, for Day 2!  But before you're off to whatever has you running today, please be sure to take a peek at what the rest of the team has been up to with this release.
